Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU) Products can now be installed at a location provided by the user. All products of the same release (for example, 16.20, 17.00, , 17.20 and so on.) must be installed at the same prefix.
The install location (TTU_install_directory) is defined as <prefix>/teradata/client/17.20. If a prefix is not provided by the user, then the default <prefix> will be /opt.
The User Selectable Install Location feature is not supported for Ubuntu. It can only be installed in the default location which is /opt.
