The tdnotification installation process creates a new user which, as of release 14.10, can be custom-defined during installation. If no user is defined, the system creates a default user called camuser, with a default home account of /home/camuser. If the new user account cannot be created with a home account, it is created without one. The camuser account is a non-login account. The tdnotification service runs with the user ID--either custom-defined or camuser-- instead of running as the root user.
