You can change the name of a system. For example, you can do this if the current name for the system is no longer appropriate. Changing the system name does not affect historical data.
  1. Stop the Teradata Viewpoint services for all nodes in the Viewpoint cluster:
    /opt/teradata/viewpoint/bin/vp-control.sh stop
  2. Run the dcsadmin command on the primary server:
    /opt/teradata/viewpoint/dcs/bin/dcsadmin.sh
  3. Type renamesystem on the primary server and press Enter.
  4. Enter the number of the system to rename on the primary server and press Enter.
  5. Enter the new name on the primary server and press Enter.
    • If the name is correct, type Y and press Enter to confirm.

The new system name is applied.

    • If the name is incorrect, type N to cancel and then re-enter the name.
  6. To exit the dcsadmin shell, type quit on the primary server and press Enter.
  7. Restart the Teradata Viewpoint services for all nodes in the Viewpoint cluster:
    /opt/teradata/viewpoint/bin/vp-control.sh start
