Perform the following steps to move cache metadata related to datalabs of one Teradata Viewpoint system to another Teradata Viewpoint system.

  1. Transfer lab group users, lab databases, and lab group roles from the old Viewpoint system to the new/same Viewpoint system.
If the migration is happening between same Teradata systems, ignore this step.
  2. On the source Viewpoint system:

  3. Run the following command to shut down the DCS from the active cache database server:
    /etc/init.d/dcs stop
  4. Run the following dcsadmin command:
    /opt/teradata/viewpoint/dcs/bin/dcsadmin.sh
  5. Type help to find the exportdatalabs command.
  6. Run the exportdatalabs command.
  7. Select the source system.
  8. Verify the output to make sure the export is successful.
Look for the Datalabs exported to tmp folder. For example, Data labs is exported to : /tmp/datalabs_Jo_TD_1720_1650361525765.json
  9. On the target Viewpoint system:

  10. From the Monitored Systems portlet, verify the following:
    1. The Teradata system is present in the Monitored Systems portlet.
    2. The system is enabled.
    3. The Dictionary collector is enabled for the system.
  11. Run the following command to shut down the DCS from the active cache database server:
    /etc/init.d/dcs stop
  12. Run the following dcsadmin command from the active cache database server:
    /opt/teradata/viewpoint/dcs/bin/dcsadmin.sh
  13. Type help to find the importdatalabs command.
  14. Run the importdatalabs command.
  15. Select the target system.
  16. Provide the location of target json file.
  17. Verify the output to make sure the import is successful.
Look for the Datalabs start importing to the system.
    For example,
Starting Data Labs import into system 'sdt46010-Target with Id : 16'
    No Validation errors found ....
Datalabs are imported successfully from file path: /tmp/datalabs_Jo_TD_1720_1650361525765.json
