As described in the following table, the MONITOR SESSION request returns both the PEState and AMPState response values. A client performance monitoring application interprets the meaning of the PEState and AMPState combination, which is displayed as the session state in the client application.
You can view different session states in Teradata Viewpoint and filter for the types of sessions you wish to view.
The session state is not returned by any PM/API CLIv2 or Teradata JDBC Driver request. It is interpreted by the client application.
