External authentication allows Vantage users to be authenticated by an agent running on the same network as Vantage and its clients.
Vantage supports the following external authentication logon types:

| Single sign-on | Authentication in client domain. User credentials need not be resubmitted to Vantage. |

| Directory sign-on | Authentication by directory. |
|
| Sign-on As | User logs on to Vantage with credentials client recognizes. |
