Access modules are adapters that enable Teradata load and unload utilities to interface with a variety of data sources through standards-based interfaces. These modules let you read from a given data source as if you were reading from a flat file. The following table describes Teradata access modules.

Access Module Description
Teradata Access Module for Amazon S3 Shared library interface between the Teradata Parallel Transporter load/unload operators and Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service). Can export data from Amazon S3 and import data to Amazon S3.
Teradata Access Module for Azure Shared library interface between the Teradata Parallel Transporter load/unload operators and Microsoft Azure. Can export data from Azure and import data to Azure.
Teradata Access Module for JMS Fast, asynchronous method to import and export data between Vantage and any JMS-enabled messaging system. Invoked by Teradata load and unload utilities.
Teradata Access Module for Kafka Shared library interface between Teradata Parallel Transporter between load and unload operators and Kafka Server. Used to export data from Kafka Server and import data to Kafka Server.
Teradata Access Module for Named Pipes Interprocess communication link between a writer process, such as Teradata FastExport, and a reader process, such as Teradata FastLoad.
Teradata Access Module for OLE DB Dynamic link library (DLL) interface between Teradata load and export utilities and data sources for which an OLE DB provider is available. Quickly moves data between OLE DB data source and Vantage without requiring intermediate storage.
Teradata Data Connector Software layer between a client utility and an access module. Establishes, maintains, and monitors the connection between a client utility and an access module by being statically linked to the client and dynamically linked to the access module.
Teradata WebSphere MQ Access Module Teradata utilities that import data using IBM WebSphere MQ message queuing middleware.
