Converts a period value to a TIMESTAMP value.

As an extension to ANSI, CAST permits the use of the FORMAT phrase to enable alternative output formatting of DateTime data.

CAST ( period_expression AS TIMESTAMP [ ( fractional_seconds_precision ) ] [ WITH TIME ZONE ] [ data_attribute [...] ] )
Syntax Elements
- period_expression
The Period expression to be converted.
- fractional_seconds_precision
A single digit representing the number of significant digits in the fractional portion of the SECOND field. The valid range is 0 through 6. The default is 6.
- data_attribute
- One of the following data attributes:
- FORMAT
- NAMED
- TITLE
