Users may accidently exceed the limit for erroneous logon attempts if they repeatedly specify a password incorrectly. This causes the system to lock the user from attempting further logons.
You can use the MODIFY USER or MODIFY PROFILE statement with the RELEASE PASSWORD LOCK option to release the password lock for a user.
MODIFY USER username AS RELEASE PASSWORD LOCK;
