Copy

A copy operation moves data from an archived file to any existing Database Engine 20 / Teradata Database and creates a new object if the object does not already exist on the target database.

You can copy an object to create a new object with a different name, or keep the same name as the source object. In database-level copy operations, you can copy to a database with a different name or maintain the same name as the source.

Restore

A restore operation moves data to one of the following locations:
  • From archived files back to the same database from which it was archived
  • To a different database if the DBC database from the source system is already restored to the destination system
