When using Amazon S3 storage to back up and restore data, you must add and configure the S3 account using the BAR Setup portlet.
- Under DSC Servers, select your DSC server.
- Under Categories, select Backup Solutions.
- From the Solutions list, click Amazon S3.
- Click
next to Accounts.
- Under Amazon S3 Storage Details, enter the Account Name.Account name is alphanumeric, maximum of 32 characters.
- Select an access type and enter its values:
Access Type Values Key authentication Enter these items as they are configured on AWS. - Account Id
- AWS account ID
- Account Key
- IAM user access key
- Region
- Region associated with this bucket; for example: us-east-1
Regions are validated but you can override if a new region becomes available.
- Bucket
- S3 bucket name
- Prefix
- Alphanumeric, followed by / to be used as a folder
- Storage Units
- Maximum of 3 characters, numeric range between 1-999
You can enter multiple regions and/or buckets by selecting

IAM Role Enter these items as they are configured on AWS. - Role Name
- As established on AWS
- Region
- Region associated with this bucket; for example: us-east-1

- Network IP
- Local IP address for the Snowball device
- Region
- Data target region, assigned with the SnowballSnowball cannot be associated with multiple regions.
- Bucket
- S3 bucket name
- Prefix
- Alphanumeric, followed by / to be used as a folder
- Storage Units
- Maximum of 3 characters, numeric range between 1-999
