Dataset Connections - Teradata Vantage

Dataset connections allow projects, dataset templates, and model versions you are training to use data from a specific database. Users can create any number of personal connections; they can also specify a default personal connection for consistent access to the same database when working with datasets and models. Default personal connections are required when creating dataset templates and training models; they are not required but are recommended for use with projects.

Service connections must be created by admin users for use when deploying models. It's a good idea to create these before prior to deploying a model as you are required to specify a service connection.
