ARC1407 %s ROLLBACK warning: one or more change images are outside of the restored partition ranges.

Explanation:

One or more of the change images of the permanent journal (PJ) are outside of the restored partition ranges for the specified target table. This is a warning -- both changes that fall inside and outside the selected partitions of the associated restore are applied to the primary index rows (the secondary indexes are not updated and will be invalid).

For Whom:

End User.

Notes:

This warning can occur if you, say, restored 3 partitions in a PPI table but the change images stored on the PJ archive touched rows in 4 or more partitions. In this case, there is a chance that the rows in the "out-of-range" partition do not correspond to the state of the source system table. The utility does not know for sure if any data corruption occurred but it gives this warning so the user can perform cross-checks.

Remedy:

In general, it is safest to backup/restore all partitions that were undergoing changes within the scope of the PJ audit trail. If you find that some partitions contain incomplete transactional change just backup/restore the affected partitions. BUILD statement must be submitted to rebuild the secondary indexes (this is required whether or not his warning occurs for the ROLLBACK for this table).
