In this section, assume you have a connection with the name con to an Advanced SQL Engine as user "tdapUser", where the default database is "tdapUserDB".

See Testing Connection to Vantage with Teradata SQL Driver for R for details on how to set up a connection.

In the following examples, in addition to the "tdplyr" package, the "dplyr" and "dbplyr" packages are also needed. Start by loading these two packages in your R session, if they are not already loaded:

library(dplyr)
library(dbplyr)

Required Access Privileges on Vantage

Users must be granted the SELECT privilege to the following Data Dictionary views:
  • DBC.DatabasesV
  • DBC.TablesV
Granting the user this access privilege will allow the user to perform data preparation operations using the tdplyr package.
