6722 An illegally formed character was encountered during translation of a dictionary object name or text string.

Explanation:

This error occurs when the MGC subsystem encounters a dictionary string containing Multi-Byte Characters (MBC), and the MBCs are not completely formed. The untranslatable characters occur in object names or text strings. Translation is attempted from the internal Kanji1 form in memory to the Unicode form on disk. This error should only occur under Japanese Language Support mode. The possibilities are: Form-of-use Illegal characters ----------- ------------------ KanjiEBCDIC A shift-out (SO) is followed by the end of the string. A SO is followed by MBCs, then the end of the string. A SO is followed by SBCs, before encountering a shift-in (SI). KanjiSJIS A SBC is encountered where we expect an MBC of 2 bytes. KanjiEUC A SBC is encountered where we expect an MBC of 2 bytes. A SBC, or 2 byte MBC, is encountered where we expect an MBC of 3 bytes. Mixture Characters occur in more than one form-of-use.
