Configure Ethernet interface files in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-ethX. The Teradata install process creates data network adapter files through highest available.

For the BAR data network adapters on both the BAR server and the Teradata Database nodes, configure the MTU size to be 9000.
The BAR DSC data network adapter MTU size can be left as the default and does not have to be changed.
  1. Edit the BAR data network adapter file /etc/network/sysconfig/ifcfg-ethX on each BAR server as well as the corresponding Teradata node adapters:
    Network Adapter MTU Setting
    1GbE 9000
    10GbE 9000
  2. Save the changes and exit the file.

Example: BAR data network file ifcfg-eth3

ifcfg-eth3
STARTMODE='onboot'
MTU='9198'
BOOTPROTO='static'
IPADDR=192.168.8.8
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
