Beginning with Vantage 2.x, Disaster Recovery as-a-Service (DRaaS) provides a disaster recovery (DR) solution for customer-owned, customer-managed Teradata on-premises production systems during a planned or unplanned outage. If a customer loses access to the primary production system, Teradata provisions, configures, and restores data to a secondary Teradata system by establishing a Vantage environment in a Teradata-owned public cloud account and virtual private cloud (VPC)
Customers are responsible for supplying a compatible Teradata on-premises backup and restore (BAR) system with Teradata Data Stream Architecture (DSA), Veritas NetBackup, and Dell EMC Data Domain software. Teradata configures the DR system on demand and provides access to the system in a supported public cloud region.
