The Parallel Upgrade Tool (PUT) is an intelligent, interactive software utility that automates much of the installation and upgrade processes for Teradata Database software.

PUT is run via a web browser or as an application. PUT uses a graphical user interface (GUI) to install/upgrade PUT and other software, as well as install and configure the Teradata Database.

PUT installs or upgrades one or more software packages on a single node or simultaneously across multiple nodes of a Teradata system. By eliminating manual upgrade tasks, PUT greatly reduces the likelihood of errors occurring during the upgrade. By performing the upgrade in parallel across multiple nodes, PUT significantly reduces the amount of time needed to perform an upgrade.
