The Upgrade Estimator Tool is a spreadsheet calculator that helps you estimate the time needed to perform a major or a minor upgrade to the Teradata Database Release. Data generated by the Pre-Upgrade Preparation Script is used as input to the Upgrade Estimator Tool.
System upgrade times are affected by these variables:
- Amount of system RAM
- Type of CPU
- Available contiguous unused space on the system disk
- Speed of disk array input/output
The Upgrade Estimator Tool does not take these variables into consideration when estimating upgrade times. Therefore, the estimated time must be considered a very rough estimate.
