On Teradata systems that are channel-connected to a mainframe, new versions of the channel packages should be upgraded before upgrading the Teradata Database software. Consult the Teradata Database Base System Release Definition for the Teradata Database target release for specific requirements.
The new package versions can be installed at the same time as the required Teradata Tools and Utilities packages.
For all upgrades, the channel package version must match the database version at the maintenance level. Channel and database software must be upgraded at the same time or PDE will not start up.
