The following procedure installs and configures the LZO compression libraries on Hortonworks Data Platform 2.6.

  1. Using one of the following, download the SLES 12 HDP-GPL tarball from the Hortonworks repository:
  2. Untar the tarball to /data/htdocs. tar xvzf <tarball filename>
  3. Follow the instructions for your version:
    1. Enabling LZO
    2. Configure core-site.xml for LZO
