To reduce overhead associated with CICS transactions accessing the Teradata Database, the CICS Interface can be made to use previously acquired storage pre-allocated memory.

Thus, at connect time, the CLI can simply obtain the necessary control blocks and buffers from a free chain jointly managed by DBCCICS and CLI under installation control (HSHSPBC-specified).

This mechanism trades virtual storage against CPU overhead, providing the customer site with a mechanism to control and monitor memory management.
