You must initially configure NetBackup policies and schedule policies in the NetBackup Administration Console before using the BAR Setup portlet or the command-line interface. For example, you must use the NetBackup Administration Console to add:
- A policy before using the BAR Setup portlet to assign a policy to a storage device
- A schedule policy before using the tdbackex script to schedule a job
Use the NetBackup Administration Console, which can reside on a Windows or Linux server, for all procedures when configuring NetBackup for Teradata DSE.
