TDP0896 NUM ARGUMENT argument EXCEEDS MAX SESS LIMIT: limit

Explanation:

In processing a Start Pool command, TDP detected that the number of sessions requested for the Session Pool (via the 'NUM' argument of the 'START POOL' command) exceeds the TDP or Teradata Database maximum session limit.

Generated By:

TDP.

Notes:

Note that there are two session limits. One is the 'TDP' limit, and is set by the installation via the TDP 'SET MAXSESS' command. The other limit is the Teradata Database limit and is a function of the number of CPs with which TDP is communicating. The lower of these two values is the limit that has been exceeded.

Remedy:

Use the TDP 'D' command to determine the maximum session limit and then re-enter the 'START POOL' command, specifying a value for the 'NUM' argument that is less than or equal to this limit. Note that the TDP 'MODIFY POOL' command may be used later to increase/decrease the number of session in the pool.
