For sessions using two-phase commit, if a coordinator fails the Teradata Database cannot unilaterally decide to commit or roll back the updates. When either the coordinator returns or manual resolution of the in-doubt session becomes necessary, TDP provides facilities to inform the Database of the resolution. The TDP AUTHORIZ command is used to allow a coordinator to use the TDP RESOLVE command.
The TDP COMMIT and ROLLBACK commands can be used to perform manual in-doubt resolution. Manual resolution can also be performed from the Teradata Database using the TPCCONS utility on the RDBMS console. For details see Utilities (B035-1102).
Notice:
Manual resolution of in-doubt sessions must be done with care. Incorrect manual in-doubt resolution causes a loss of data integrity between the participating databases.
