Before you set up Thales for Lake, make sure of the following:
- You have set up CipherTrust Database Protection, including the CipherTrust Manager (CM), following the instructions by Thales: CDP for Teradata VantageCloud Lake.
- The CM must have a valid license that covers the maximum number of consumption units you plan to use in your Lake environment. Thales can run on both the primary and compute cluster nodes.
- Your CM must be reachable using a VPC Service Endpoint in AWS using PrivateLink, so the Thales UDFs on Lake can reach the CipherTrust Manager.
- Teradata recommends using a single CipherTrust Manager with a single VantageCloud Lake environment.
- You have already created a Thales database target and database user with CREATE FUNCTION, DROP FUNCTION, and ALTER FUNCTION privileges with the database target.
