Prior to Lake upgrade, follow these steps to rotate the CMEK key.

    In the Google Cloud Console

  1. Go to Security > Key Management and select the key ring where your CMEK is stored.
  2. Select the key then Rotate.
  3. Save the resource name for the new key version in a secure location. You need this value to complete the key rotation for the Lake environment.

    4. In the Lake Console

  4. Return to the Lake console, and select Settings > Storage encryption > Rotate key.
  5. Enter the new key ring (resource name) and select Rotate key.
    Important: The key change takes effect during the next upgrade cycle.
