VantageCloud Enterprise

  1. To set up a PrivateLink endpoint on VantageCloud Enterprise, sign into Teradata Support: https://support.teradata.com.
  2. Select Request a Change.
  3. Provide the following information:
    • Purpose: Request for creating a VantageCloud Enterprise private link endpoint for Data Copy
    • VantageCloud Enterprise SiteID
    • Endpoint service name from Connect environment window
    • Availability zone ID in which the endpoint service was created on the VantageCloud Lake site

VantageCore on AWS

Make sure to use the same region and availability zone as the VantageCloud Lake while creating an endpoint on your external Vantage system.
  1. Log on to your AWS account associated with the VantageCore environment.
  2. Go to: Virtual Private Cloud > Endpoints.
  3. Select Create endpoint and enter the following details to create a new VPC Endpoint:
    Item Description
    Name tag Provide a name of your choice for the VPC Endpoint.
    Type Select Endpoint services that use NLBs and GWLBs.
    Service name Provide the VPC Endpoint service name generated in the VantageCloud Lake Console and select Verify service.
    VPC Select the external Vantage system where you intend to create the VPC Endpoint.
    Subnets Select a Private Subnet where the VPC endpoint resides.
    Security Group Choose the Security Group to use for your VPC Endpoint.

    For a VantageCore system make sure to use a Security Group that contains a rule for port 19092 and a Private IP for all the VantageCore database nodes.

    Tags [Optional] You can create tags for the endpoint.
  4. Select Create Endpoint.
    Save the following details for a later step after the VPC Endpoint creation status changes to Available:
    • First DNS name, from the Details tab.
      You need to provide this DNS name in the ticket to Teradata support for Copy Agent installation.
    • IPv4 address assigned to the external VPC endpoint, from the Subnets tab.
  5. Go back to the Data Copy UI on VantageCloud Lake Console.
  6. Open the Connect Environment form.
  7. Enter the saved IPv4 address in the Private Link: Interface endpoint address field.
  8. Select Next.
  9. Preceed to Install the Copy Agent.

VantageCore on Azure

  1. Log on to your Azure portal associated with the VantageCore environment.
  2. Search for Private endpoints.
  3. Select Create and enter the following details to create a new VPC Endpoint:
    Basics  
    Subscription Select the same subscription entered in the Data Copy UI before enabling the Private Link.
    Resource Group Select a resource group.
    Name Provide a name of your choice for the VPC Endpoint.
    Network Interface Name Provide a name of your choice or accept the default.
    Region Select a region with a network interface that is reachable from your on-premises system.
  4. Select Next : Resource >.
    Resource  
    Connection method Select Connect to an Azure resource by resource ID or alias.
    Resource ID or alias Provide the VPC Endpoint service name generated in the VantageCloud Lake Console
  5. Select Next : Virtual Network >.
    Virtual Network  
    Virtual network Select a network interface that is reachable from your on-premises system.
    Subnet Select a subnet that is reachable from your on-premises system.
  6. Select Next : DNS >.
  7. Select Next : Tags >.
    Creating tags for the endpoint is optional.
  8. Select Next : Review + create >.
  9. Select Create.
  10. When the deployment is complete, select Go to resource.
    Ensure that the Connection status is Approved.
  11. Select the name of the Network interface (for example, <endpoint name>-nic) and save the Private IPv4 address.
  12. Go back to the Data Copy UI on VantageCloud Lake Console.
  13. Open the Connect Environment form.
  14. Enter the saved IPv4 address in the Private Link: Interface endpoint address field.
  15. Select Next.
  16. Proceed to Install the Copy Agent.
