You can perform disaster recovery testing to ensure the disaster recovery plan is accurate and will work when a recovery is required. Here are the steps to test your disaster recovery plan.

  1. In the VantageCloud Lake console, select your target environment.
  2. In the Data Protection tab, select DR Test.
  3. Select Initiate disaster recovery test. The application starts copying the data as a background process.
  4. Select the retained copy to test failover. Enter the password, if required, to initiate failover.

    The status of the failover displays. Click Details to view the progress of the ongoing process.

    Upon successful completion, a message appears indicating the same.

  5. In case of any errors, you can restart the failover.
    1. Click Details to view the errors.
    2. Fix the errors.
    3. Click Restart.
    4. On the confirmation message, click Restart.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Cleanup to release all resources used for the test purpose.

    The progress of cleanup displays. In case of any errors, you can view Details, fix any issues, and restart the cleanup process.

  8. Click Finish to complete the testing process.
