This stored procedure marks one or more objects as eligible for having their AutoStats tuning metadata preserved, including statistics definitions, after being temporarily dropped and then recreated. If not marked for preservation, the AutoStats stored tuning metadata becomes orphaned from their corresponding Data Dictionary entries and is not preserved. Although the practice of temporarily dropping a table and recreating with the same schema is common to many ETL processes, it results in new Dictionary assigned table identifiers representing a brand new table.
