Open Table Format is Supported for VantageCloud Lake on Google Cloud
Use Open Table Format on Google Cloud to read and write Iceberg/ DeltaLake tables on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Hive and Unity catalogs. The key benefits include:
- Enhanced Data Management: You can now manage your data more efficiently by leveraging Iceberg/DeltaLake tables on GCP using TDOTF.
- Improved Accessibility: Data stored in Google Cloud can be easily accessed and utilized, providing greater flexibility and convenience.
For more information, see Datalake Statements.
ModelOps for VantageCloud Lake AWS
- Prepare data using in-database functions.
- Train models using a preferred language or technology.
- Deploy models to predict and monitor outcomes.
Self-Service Same Site Restore on Google Cloud
Google Cloud now supports same site restoration of backups using self-service. You can perform this operation from the Restore points tab of the Data protection page. See Restore Data from a Restore Point for more details.
Self-Service Cross Site Restore of DR on Azure
Azure now supports cross site restoration of DR using self-service. You can perform this full system recovery operation from the Restore points tab of the Data protection page. See Disaster Recovery with Cross Site Recovery of Backups for more details.
Full System Restore (AWS)
You can now restore a full system using the Restore Points page to include the most recent DBC backup data to restore metadata about the database system. See Restore Data from a Restore Point.
Data Copy Service on VantageCloud Lake Azure
You can now use Data Copy Service while using VantageCloud Lake in Azure platform. For more information, see Data Copy.
Text Analytics AI Functions
Teradata supports a range of text analytics functions using large language models available on various cloud platforms, utilizing data stored in Vantage. This expansion enables execution using functions utilizing the parallel processing capabilities of Vantage.
Use Text Analytics AI functions for various text analytics tasks using AWS Bedrock, Azure Open AI, or Google Gemini large language models with data stored in Teradata database tables. These functions are integrated into the database and callable using SQL or Python, via teradatagenai, to enhance the user experience.
Teradata Package for Generative AI (AWS)
Teradata Package for Generative AI supports the integration of Hugging Face language models into Teradata VantageCloud Lake (AWS) through the Bring Your Own Large Language Model (BYO-LLM). This feature enables users to utilize these models seamlessly for a wide range of tasks. The library includes APIs similar to OpenSourceML, which encapsulate various steps for running text analytics within the VantageCloud Lake AWS Open Analytics Framework.
Alerts on Slack
You can now add up to five Slack channels to receive system alerts. See View and Configure Consumption Alerts.
Lake-to-Lake Connectivity (Google Cloud)
You can now connect two VantageCloud Lake environments on the same platform using QueryGrid on VantageCloud Lake.
| Lake environment | Connects to | With connector |
|---|---|---|
| VantageCloud Lake on Google Cloud | VantageCloud Lake on Google Cloud | Teradata-to-Teradata |
QueryGrid upgrade to version 3.07
With this update, QueryGrid 3.07 is automatically activated for the QueryGrid fabric, connectors, and links. The currently active version (3.06) becomes the previous version. All queries started before or during the upgrade must complete before you can delete the previous version (3.06). See QueryGrid® Installation and User Guide.
