Creating and Running Queries

Editor
You create and run queries in the Editor. Use Editor to do the following:
  • Choose an environment and optionally a compute group to use. Queries not run on a compute group run on the primary cluster.
  • Create, edit, run, and save SQL commands and scripts for your databases.
  • Open and upload scripts from other sources.
  • Run SQL commands leveraging NOS to load CSV, JSON, and Parquet data from external object storage into a local table.
  • Download results in CSV or JSON format, up to 10,000 table rows.
  • Copy results to the clipboard.
  • Run featured use cases that access preloaded datasets. Each use case in Help contains instructions.
  • Select Add to starred to include a database or user in the list of Starred objects.
  • Select to open and close the object browser, script window, query results, and query history.

You run queries in the Editor. See Creating and Running Queries.

Monitoring and Managing Queries

You monitor and manage your running queries from the VantageCloud Lake Console. See Monitoring and Managing Queries.
