Teradata Tools and Utilities

After the Run Config step finishes, you are prompted to indicate when you want to run the Run Reconfig utility. The updated configuration produced by the Run Config utility does not take effect until you run the Run Reconfig utility. The default option when you click Next at the Run Reconfig step is to run the utility immediately, after which the new configuration takes effect. However, depending on the size of your system, this step may take up to several hours to complete. So you can instead elect to defer this step to a later, more convenient time. In this case PUT skips the Run Reconfig step, and you must remember to manually run the utility in order for the new configuration to take effect.

In the Number of Reconfig Tasks (1-10) field, specify the number of reconfiguration tasks that can run in parallel, from 1 to 10. The default value is 10.

Reconfig Log Files

Reconfig log files are generated and stored after PUT runs the Run Reconfig step. The log files created use the following format to indicate the time and date the step was run: Reconfig_date _time.log.

The log files are stored in /var/opt/teradata/support.
