The Create Vconfig step writes the finished configuration data to the vconfig.out file. The file is then transferred to all nodes selected to be included in the configuration. Once the file has been sent to the remote nodes, a remote job is started on each node. This remote job executes the vconfig tool from the PDE software directory and produces the vconfig.gdo file on each node.

The Vantage software must be installed on all nodes prior to running this step.

This step requires no user interaction unless you are in Custom configuration mode. In Custom configuration mode, this step allows you to edit the contents of the vconfig file before it is sent to the remote nodes.

View/Edit vconfig File

The Edit Vconfig screen displays the hostname and directory location for the applicable vconfig file.

You can view and change the configuration using notepad or your favorite text editor. Generally, you should not edit this file unless it is an emergency and you are an expert user.

To change the vconfig file, connect to the system specified by "Host." The "Filename" is the path on that system. The file you edit must be the one indicated on this screen.
