The Create Interim Vconfig step runs when you are moving AMPs on a system running Teradata version later than 12.0. This step updates the vconfig file with information that the DBS reconfig utility and Teradata TVS need while processing the “Move AMP” commands. If you are running a version of Teradata older than 12.5, or you are only moving PE vprocs, this step is skipped.
This step automatically runs, and no user interaction is required.
