The Media Sources step specifies the location of the packages to be used. The standard Media Sources screen is displayed. Use the Directory media type in the first drop down menu for Hadoop Upgrades. All HDP and supporting packages should copied to a separate directory on the master node prior to starting the upgrade. That directory should be under the /var/opt/teradata file system to assure there is enough space for all the packages. For example, /var/opt/teradata/pkgs/HDP is typical.

Do not use the CDROM drive during Hadoop upgrades.

Choose to install packages from the Package Source Description.

Package Source Description

For systems with ten or more nodes, an initial screen called Select Media Source Node(s) for New Packages appears. For Hadoop upgrades, select the Directory media type and the node where the HDP packages are located. The Select Media Source Node(s) for New Packages screen does not appear on systems with fewer than ten nodes.
