If you want to initiate an upgrade using VM&F and are unsure if the system is configured for VM&F, or you need to convert a supported system to use VM&F, contact the appropriate support center and open an Incident report requesting help. The Incident report is directed to the Change Control team who will work with you to set up VM&F.
The Change Control process can be used instead of an Incident report. Using a Change Control requires ample time for analysis and possible reconfiguration to be completed (for example, ordering, installing, and configuring drives) before the planned start date of the actual change.
