During an upgrade, PUT allows you to set a maintenance window to prevent alert escalation. If you select Yes, PUT turns off alert escalation for 24 hours, or until the PUT operation finishes, whichever occurs first. During the maintenance window, error alerts that normally occur during an upgrade are generated, but are not reported.

If Teradata Vital Infrastructure (TVI) is configured, PUT uses TVI to set a maintenance window. If TVI is not available, and the server management (SM) CMIC version is 12.02 or later, PUT uses SM REST functionality to set a maintenance window. If SM REST is used, PUT prompts you for the SM REST user name and password on the next screen only if CMIC version is 12.04 or 12.05.

Starting with CMIC 12.06, JWT token is used to authenticate SM REST instead. You are not prompted to enter the SM REST user name and password.
