These steps must be performed to replace nodes and storage.
  1. Physically add the new node and storage to an existing system containing the node and storage being replaced.
  2. Run PUT’s Configure Teradata Vantage operation to create new AMPs/PEs on the new node with new pdisks assigned to the new storage.
  3. Run PUT’s Move AMPs/PEs operation to swap definitions between the old and new AMPs and PEs, copy the pdisk contents from the old AMPs to the new AMPs, and switch the AMP/PE definitions in the vconfig.txt and vconfig.gdo files.
  4. Run the PUT Configure Teradata Vantage operation to delete the old node (and any AMPs/PEs assigned to it) from the configuration.
  5. Physically remove the old node and storage.
