  1. Select and install an X server software.
    As an example, Xming is a featured X Window System Server for Microsoft Windows. For information, see: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xming.
  2. After Xming is installed on your machine, do the following:
    1. Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\xming\Xo.hosts
    2. Add your server name to the file.
  3. Verify the Xming Server is running on your machine.
  4. Open PuTTY.
  5. Do one of the following:
    In PuTTY options Select Enable X11 forwarding
    On the command line Type: c
  6. Log on as root.
  7. At prompt, type PUT.
