Select and install an X server software.
As an example, Xming is a featured X Window System Server for Microsoft Windows. For information, see: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xming.

After Xming is installed on your machine, do the following:
- Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\xming\Xo.hosts
- Add your server name to the file.
- Verify the Xming Server is running on your machine.
- Open PuTTY.

Do one of the following:
In PuTTY options Select Enable X11 forwarding On the command line Type: c - Log on as root.
- At prompt, type PUT.
