After the LUNs have been re-created, nodes attached to the array must be rebooted. If the Teradata reconcile service has been set to “automatic” start (its normal setting), Teradata will attempt to start when the nodes are rebooted. However, this should be avoided since the recovery procedure has not been completed and Teradata is still unable to use the new LUNs at this point. In order to prevent Teradata from starting after the nodes are rebooted, the reconcile service should be switched temporarily from “automatic” to “manual” start.
This step must be performed on all nodes attached to the array.
  1. Run PUT and choose the Set Teradata Startup Option operation.
  2. Select all nodes attached to the array.
  3. On the Select Teradata Startup Option screen, choose Do NOT automatically start Teradata after a system reboot.
  4. On the Select Reboot Option screen, choose Yes, reboot the nodes now.
  5. When you have finished running the Teradata Startup option, wait until the reboot completes before continuing with this procedure.
