The Toggle HSN operation is used to convert Hot Standby nodes in a system to Active Nodes and then back to Hot Standby nodes. Note that some platforms support more than one HSN per clique, but require at least one to be running at all times in each clique.

This operation toggles nodes between Hot Standby and Active states. Once the Hot Standby node is converted to an Active node, this node can be converted back to a Hot Standby node using the Restore HSN option.

  • This operation can only be run in Teradata Support Mode.
  • This operation requires a minimum of Teradata Database Release 13.0.
  • Persistent Hot Standby nodes are supported in Teradata Database Release 14.0 or higher.
