Jointly developed with SAS, the Teradata Appliance for SAS High-Performance Analytics (HPA) enables high-performance, in-memory processing of data residing in the Teradata systems. The 720 appliance executes advanced analytics that result in providing new insights to daily operations in near real-time.
The 720 appliance consists of two node types -- SAS worker nodes and Teradata Connect nodes. A minimum appliance configuration consists of one SAS worker node. Each appliance cabinet can contain 16 SAS worker nodes and up to 4 Teradata Connect nodes or 18 SAS worker nodes if no Teradata Connect nodes are installed. The 720 appliance can scale up to 34 SAS worker nodes using an in-cabinet InfiniBand switch or up to 324 SAS worker nodes using an external InfiniBand cabinet.
- SAS HPA Base and performance worker nodes
- SAS Mid-Tier nodes
- SAS App Server
A Teradata Appliance for SAS High-Performance Analytics Model 720 Platform can also contain cabinets from the Teradata Appliance for SAS High-Performance Analytics Model 750 Platform.
