Performance
To improve performance when archiving, Teradata ARC optimizes local sessions when assigning AMPs. This optimization requires:
The optimization works best if Teradata ARC sessions are connected to as many nodes as possible. This increases the likelihood of having a local session available on each node for each AMP. To accomplish this requires the correct configuration of node Communications Processor (COP) names and addresses. Refer to information on establishing a session in Teradata Call-Level Interface Version 2 Reference for Workstation-Attached Systems.
