The ANSI syntax for TRIM is very different from ODBC syntax for Teradata syntax.
The TRIM function works differently in Teradata and ANSI modes. In Teradata mode, TRIM only removes trailing blanks. In ANSI, TRIM removes leading as well as trailing blanks.
