Before creating a stored procedure, the ODBC application must first check whether the database supports stored procedures. This is done using the SQLGetInfo API to retrieve the details shown below. In all these cases, the term procedure means a stored procedure.

SQLGetInfo API specified with Returns
SQL_PROCEDURES (Y or N) Y = The database supports procedures

N = Not supported

SQL_ACCESSIBLE_PROCEDURES (Y or N) Y = User can execute all procedures returned by SQLProcedures

N = Some of the procedures returned are unavailable to the user

SQL_PROCEDURE_TERM (PROCEDURE) PROCEDURE in the database
