SSO provides the ability to log on to a computer or workstation once and thereafter access Teradata Database without having to provide username and password. This capability not only saves the time required to enter usernames and passwords, but modern authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos and NTLM do not send the passwords across the network, adding to the security.
