The internal processing of a dictionary archive is equivalent to archiving a database with empty tables. There is no performance benefit for archive or restore/copy operations for a dictionary archive. Therefore, Teradata ARC automatically lowers the granularity of cataloging to the object level for dictionary archives. To generate table-level details for content/history purposes, run an ANALYZE of the archive file while using the CATALOG keyword.
