- If Online Logging is requested on a table that is involved in a load operation (by FastLoad or MultiLoad). Teradata ARC handles this condition the same as in earlier releases except that Teradata ARC now displays the list of tables that are in a FastLoad/MultiLoad state.
- If Online Logging is requested for a table that is already enabled for logging. Teradata ARC handles this condition the same as in earlier releases except that Teradata ARC now displays the list of tables that are already logging.
- If the Teradata ARC user does not have the DUMP access right (or permission) on the table to be enabled for ONLINE ARCHIVE, Teradata ARC displays the following message and then lists each table with the access right error prior to aborting the job:
The user does not have 'DUMP' access right for [number] object[s]:
[db or tb name]
[db or tb name]
[db or tb name]
If the NOSYNC option is specified, the error will be ignored and the archive job will continue.
- If the table to be enabled for Online Logging already has a lock on it, Teradata ARC is blocked. If the NOSYNC option is not specified, no special action is taken and Teradata ARC remains blocked on that lock until it is freed up and Teradata ARC can obtain it.
