Server management software runs on each CMIC in the system. The CMIC hosts the SMWeb Services home page and provides applications and services for server management on an MPP system.
Server management can be configured for a single system or multiple systems (multi-system configuration). When a 680, 2800, Aster 5, or Hadoop 5 system is added to a 2850 cabinet, each system is part of a multi-system configuration. The primary and secondary server management network of the 2850 system is connected to the other systems in the multi-system configuration in one server management domain.
The Service Workstation (SWS) or Service Workstation VM (SWS VM) is one of the chassis a CMIC monitors. Teradata Customer Support uses the SWS for service operations.
The level of service depends on the service agreements between Teradata and the customer.
